- Announcing the First Annual Arizona 2024 Perseids Meteor Shower Challenge.
To stimulate interest and activity in VHF weak signal operating, several AZ-SWOT members have decided to organize a challenge for bragging rights and fun. This year’s meteor activity is expected to peak on Aug 11th.
Rules are simple:
The challenge window is 12:00 AM MST Saturday, 08/10/2024 through 11:59 PM MST Wednesday 08/14/2024. The best operating times are 04:00 AM MST to 08:00 AM MST as the Earth rotates into the Perseids constellation.
Log as many contacts and longest distance on 50, 144, and 222 Mhz bands using the MSK144 mode in WSJT-X digital.
Winning contacts for each band will be published here.
